4WD (Certificate)The aim of the 4WD Defensive Driver Program is to ensure your operators are fully competent with the on-site operation of a 4WD or 6WD vehicle. The 4WD Defensive Driver Program is structured as a theory session followed by a hands-on practical driving session and assessment. By operating the 4WD vehicle in a defensive manner, hazardous situations can be avoided.
The participants are instructed in the basic skills and knowledge necessary to drive safely, correctly react to hazards and therefore prevent accidents. This focus on safety has resulted in substantial improvements in on-site behaviour for many of our clients.
The participants are also taught vehicle recovery techniques and driving under special conditions, such as water crossings, sandy and rocky surfaces. These environmental difficulties are often unavoidable for many of our clients, due to the nature of their business. Therefore, we provide their staff with some practical experience in safely operating the vehicle in these conditions. DESIGNED FOR Due to our strong commitment to safety, many of our clients have implemented a policy where all staff, contractors and visitors to their site must undertake either the training program or a formal assessment before operating a 4WD vehicle on-site.
During this instructional phase, each participant will be assessed against competency standards and any further training needs will be addressed as required.
