Accredited Hot Stone Therapy This course is classified as Post Graduate and the pre requisite is an Anatomy, Physiology and Massage certificate. This intriguing therapy has a history dating back over 2000 years and only now is being recognized for its powerful benefits. With the use of special basalt stones, heated to a safe temperature, the treatment allows the therapist to warm, relax and release tension, simply by using specialized techniques with the stones, saving your hands!
The aims and outcomes for the course are: Aim : to fully prepare qualified therapists to safely prepare equipment and client for a treatment and to safely perform an effective Stone Therapy Massage.
Outcomes to be able to:
Explain the history of Hot Stone therapy Identify the contra indications to treatment Identify the benefits of the treatment Provide effective Home Advice. Prepare heater and stones before and after treatment Identify any possible Health & Safety requirements. Prepare area and client for treatment Perform a treatment routine Identify further treatments required.
The contents of the course will be mainly practical and therefore students are required to wear appropriate attire fitting to the therapy.
