Beginners Spanish I This course introduces students to basic skills of the Spanish language. Students will acquire essential understanding of Hispanic cultures and societies, as expressed in and reflected by the language. The course will equip students with basic knowledge for cross-cultural situations within the framework of language and associated non-verbal communication. Students will be encouraged to reflect upon the dynamics of the language in its various cultural contexts. This course will prepare students for further study of Spanish, and for engagement with Hispanic peoples: from Spain or Latin America.
