Building .Net Applications with C# and DataWindow.NET 2.0 This course is designed to help PowerBuilder developers bridge the gap between PowerBuilder and Visual Studio 2005. The class will help those who are new to, or will be using C# to create applications. Learn to reuse your PowerBuilder DataWindow/DataStore skills when building .Net applications using C#. We will begin with a day of language primer: comparing between C# and PowerScript. You will be shown differences between the PowerBuilder IDE and the Visual Studio 2005 IDE. Once the foundation of writing C# code in Visual Studio is set, you will explore somewhat familiar territory in performing data access, retrieval and modifications using the .Net version of the DataWindow. You will create DataWindow objects using the DataWindow Designer. You will learn how to write connection and transaction management code using the “legacySybase Transaction object as well as perform similar functionality using the ADO.Net interface(s). Many advanced DataWindow topics will be covered such as how to dynamically create DataWindows and dynamically change the behavior of DataWindows. The latter 3 days of the class is basically our Mastering DataWindows course ported to the .Net environment. Other valuable topics include: how to use DataStores; explore distributed programming techniques for synchronizing data. The last day includes topics on creating ASP.Net Web applications using the DataWindow .Net. This course covers functionality available in DataWindow .Net 2.0. All labs and examples are developed in C#. Course Objectives : Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: Use the DataWindow technology in the .Net environment Manipulate the properties and behavior of the DataWindow control Access and modify the properties of the DataWindow object Manage DataWindow buffers Use shared result sets Use DataStores Implement DataWindow error handling techniques Validate user input Use DataWindow techniques to manage database transactions using the Transaction or AdoTransaction Object Create DataWindows dynamically Modify DataWindows dynamically Synchronize DataStores in a Distributed Application A Classroom course provided by Sybase USA in Atlanta, Bethesda, Boulder, Chicago, Concord, Dallas, Irvine, New York, Richmond, United States
