Certificate IV in Project Management Workshop The program concentrates on helping participants gain a sound understanding of the project management process and provides them with practical advice on using this knowledge to effectively manage their projects.
During the program, software based project management tools are explored and utilised as one of a number of options available to help participants plan and manage their projects. The program is workshop based and is designed to be extremely intensive.
The workshop focuses on the development of the key elements of a project plan. Participants form small groups and nominate a project to plan during the workshop. Key planning templates are explained and groups practice their compilation with their nominated project.
This course has two parts: a three-day face-to-face training component and an on-the-job practical component. Participants must complete both parts to gain their qualificiations. The face-to-face component of the Certificate IV and the Diploma courses is identical, however participants will be assessed at different levels for the two qualifications.
The workshop is also a great opportunity for project teams to start up a project whilst learning the techniques and gaining expert advice on outlining their project plan. The workshop also covers a basic introduction to Microsoft Project.

The Certificate IV in Project Management is a competency-based award at Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF 2007) Level 4. Competencies at the Certificate IV level describe the capabilities of a project team member who usually works with other team members under the direction of a project manager.
The added value of this course is that the evidence required demonstrating competency is assessed during the course, thus speeding the attainment of the qualification. Delegates will receive a Statement of Attainment for each unit of competency for which he/she is judged to be competent.? When the delegate is judged to be competent in all eight units of competency, the Certificate IV in Project Management will be issued.
