A basic course intended to introduce the beginner to Spanish. Study at an enjoyable pace, acquiring basic vocabulary and structure, pronunciation, conversation, and listening skills.

Conversational Spanish I
This program is designed for students who are already proficient in the skills taught in Levels 1-5 and who want to increase their conversational abilities. Conducted entirely in Spanish, this course provides students with an opportunity to markedly improve their speaking and listening skills. Magazines, video and audio tapes, and other resources designed to provide practical opportunities for vocabulary and skill development are selected to match student interests. Grammatical topics are addressed as needed.

Conversational Spanish II
Based on conversations from daily situations, this course emphasizes practical speaking skills with discussion topics selected from a wide range of fields including culture, economics, literature, science, religions etc. After finishing Conversational Spanish II, the students will not only be able to speak fluently in a variety of daily contexts, but also able to use the language proficiently for in-depth topical discussions and debate.

Whether you need basic conversational skills or are looking to learn Spanish as a second language, you’ll benefit from learning specific language functions of daily life. Learn the Spanish alphabet, pronunciation, greetings, and basic vocabulary. Great for travelers! Materials fee, $10 (no text required).

Improve your ability to communicate in any situation with this intermediate-level Spanish class that integrates vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation into situational conversations. Conducted in Spanish, this transition class is designed to increase your confidence in speaking and in understanding others in a business or daily-life setting. Cultural differences, customs, and various regional dialects are also discussed to increase student awareness of the Spanish-speaking environment. Content specific to the makeup of the class may be discussed as time allows. Intermediate-level fluency is recommended prior to taking this course. Textbook required. 25 hours.
