This course introduces to the integrated computerized accounting system. Students participating in this course will learn essential computer, accounting and professional skills. They will gain in-depth knowledge of the accounting software applications, word processing and spreadsheet. Upon completion, students will be able to establish company records; maintain daily transactions using the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, account reconciliation and payroll features; and create financial statements. Business Administration provides a framework for developing the skills and knowledge needed in an increasingly dynamic office environment with little or no supervision. The objective of this program is to help the student develop the skills and competences needed for increased interpersonal, organizational, administrative, Bookkeeping, Computerized Accounting, word processing, and communication skills. This program includes entry to advanced level of training in computer applications such as Microsoft office, office and business skills.

Diploma in Accounting

The Diploma in Accounting Program is a full-time eight month program designed to cover all the fundamentals of accounting.

All credits earned during the program are fully transferable to the CGA Professional Program. During the program, students cover all the CGA Level 1, 2 and 3 courses.

Courses in Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Economics and Quantitative Methods are also accepted by the Certified Management Accountants of BC as equivalent to their four prerequisite courses for the CMA Accelerated Program.

Those students who are not intending to complete the CGA or CMA, will still be able to use this program to gain entry into a career in accounting. There are many opportunities for graduates in this field.

Qualify from a non-accounting first degree. Allows those who hold a bachelor degree in any discipline to earn a widely recognised and respected postgraduate academic qualification in accounting.
