Driving Instruction (Certificate)

People who wish to become driving instructors who have little or no previous experience in driving instruction and existing driving instructors who wish to improve their career options within the industry by achieving a higher
qualification.

Rationale:
This qualification covers the competency standards specified for workplace assessment and training as well as other units of competency from the Transport & Distribution Training Package -Road Transport Stream and some additional modules.

Requirements for completing this qualification:
Transqual will develop a training plan based on a selection of the units below in accordance with the trainees requirements.

Because of this the state Governments have agreed to continue to accept statement of attainments from RTO’s currently registered to deliver the 91000NSW course, for a six (6) month period to allow time for RTO’s to add the new qualification to their scope. What this means to you is that anyone wishing to become a driver trainer and enrols in the course after the 31st December 2007 can only be issued a statement not a certificate, and although this statement will be recognised by the state issuing authorities (Transport Departments) it is not a formal qualification, so an upgrade to the new qualification will need to be completed within the following 12 months. Aegis Training Services recognises this and has developed an RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) process for those who complete the course to make this process as painless as possible. (and as a way of minimising costs to you).

Aegis Training Services has also placed a high priority on the addition of the new qualification to scope and has already added most of the new competencies scope (all bar the two that where not completed on time) so can issue statements for most of the competencies already. What this will mean is that all new applications after the 31st of December will have to do is complete the two new competencies at a later date. This will mean a great time and financial saving to out customers in the future.

Certificate IV in Driver Instruction is a minimum requirement that must be completed to become an Instructor in Queensland. We are proud to be able to deliver this course to our customers.

The course is made up of a group of modules and is designed to be able to completed in the sections you require for the class of vehicle training desired. After completing the course and being issued the certificate you can start your new career as an Instructor (After being issued an Instructor Licence from the Dept of Transport {Application form, Criminal History check needs to be completed prior to the issue of the Instructor Licence})

This Course is now available at Aegis Training Services P/L. The course is a 2 week course and can be combined with the TAA qualification as well if you wish. The advantage of the new course is it is consistent in all Australian States and Territories and therefore will be immediately recognised by all licensing authorities. (see below regarding optional units)

The new course is set out with 11 core units (which is the full qualification) and in addition to this there is 2 optional assessment units from the TAA qualification for those wishing to work in states with assessment completed by the Trainer, for example in Queensland the Q-RIDE motorcycle system, South Australia Licensing system and NSW heavy Vehicle system. Aegis Training Services P/L also provides the TAA qualification so we can offer the option of completing these units at the same time as completing the TLI41207 qualification.
