Horsebox Driver (Certificate) We provide driver training courses for drivers wishing to learn the necessary skills to handle horseboxes.
For horseboxes up to 3.5 tonnes an LGV licence is not necessary, so our courses cover familiarisation and practical training, to teach trainees the necessary skills to drive large vehicles smoothly, ensuring the safety of the horsebox occupants.
For larger horseboxes over 3.5 tonnes, drivers must have an LGV licence, so the course follows the same process and has a similar content to our LGV training courses.
Courses generally take place at our facility at HMS Daedalus at Lee on Solent, but on-site training is also an option.
