The Master of Business in Human Resource Management provides students with the in-depth knowledge and skills necessary to contribute at a senior level to their organisation’s human resources and industrial relations functions.

The course is designed primarily for individuals who are currently employed, or show the potential for employment, at senior policy making levels in the fields of human resource management, industrial relations, occupational health and affirmative action.

This course provides an introduction to human resource management and industrial relations in a business context for those who may have employment relations responsibilities as part of their role or who may be considering moving into employment relations from other specialisations. It also provides an admission pathway to the Master program. Key functional areas and processes are considered within a contextualised framework.

This qualification aims to provide the skills and knowledge required to work in human resources as a manager, specialist or a supervisor with Human Resource Management (HRM) responsibilities. The course provides the development of skills and knowledge in labour markets, human resource consultancy, performance management, human resource information systems, Industrial Relations (IR) policies and processes and IR dispute management, managing recruitment and selection, managing employee separation, managing work-like skills, managing rehabilitation and return to work, managing remuneration and mediation.
