ITALIAN FOR TRAVEL

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the Italian language. In this course, students will develop basic language skills in oral comprehension and expression. The course will focus on vocabulary, pronunciation, formulaic patterns, and basic sentence structures that will allow students to communicate at a basic survival level for travel/business purposes.

Objectives:
1. A Basic comprehension of German/ French or Italian for travellers

2. Hopefully a developing love of other languages and cultures which will lead to further study3. An ability to understand and engage in basic conversations4. To gain confidence in order to travel in foreign countries and consequently gain more from the experience5. An ability to order meals ask directions, book accomodation, and to travel from point A to point B with confidence and most importantly to learn how to ask ’’how much?’’6. Having gained experience in these basic areas travelling will become a more reqarding experience
