IELTS

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an international English test used for entry to universities and other educational institutions, both within Australia and overseas. This course provides students with skills and confidence in test-taking as well as an understanding of the IELTS Academic Module practice test. It prepares students for all four skills tested. reading, writing, listening and speaking.

IELTS tests the complete range of English language skills that will commonly be encountered by students when studying or training in the medium of English. All candidates take the same Listening and Speaking Modules. There is an option of either Academic or General Training Reading and Writing Modules. Academic is suitable for candidates planning to undertake higher education study. General Training is suitable for candidates planning to undertake non-academic training or work experience, or for immigration purposes.
IELTS is accepted by most Canadian academic institutions. American academic institutions are increasingly accepting IELTS for admissions purposes. It is only accepted by the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) as English level except TOEFL.

You will be able to participate in active conversation. You will develop a more complex understanding of grammar and improve reading and listening skills.

You will communicate effectively with a wide vocabulary and accurate grammar. You will develop analytical reading skills, complex writing skills and the ability to professionally debate and defend your opinions. You will easily understand the television, movies, the newspaper and academic reading.

The score a candidate receives for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is recognised internationally for a variety of purposes, such as the accumulation of points towards immigration or entry to academic study.

This Intensive skills preparation course helps you prepare for the Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing test.

Completing this program does not however, mean you will necessarily obtain the particular score you want in the actual examination.

The teachers on IELTS will use socio-cultural communicative language teaching techniques and activities that will help students develop accuracy and appropriacy in their English language skills. Practice tests will be included in this course and topics will include old and new media, education, employment, hobbies, everyday activities, food and entertainment.
