J2EE is very large topic; so large that it is hard to cover it in only 5 days. This course is a continuation of our J305 - Introduction to Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE). It goes into further details about many of the topics that were covered in an introductory way. It also covers others aspects of the J2EE architecture.

At the end of this course, you will have a better appreciation of the awesome advanced power that J2EE has available; and be able to use it!

Pre-Requisites
This is a very advanced course. Students must have taken our J305 - Introduction to Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) or have equivalent knowledge.

J2EE is simply an umbrella name for a series of Java technologies that enable the development of large-scale, web based, enterprise-sized applications. Knowing the APIs, and being able to use them effectively, are completely different. This course not only details the APIs, but also gets into theory, good practices and real-world gotchas of J2EE and EJB development. It also emphasizes the OO of EJB development to help you get the best reusability, maintainability and all of the other promises that OO has to offer. If you want to leverage EJB, XML, JSP, Servlets in your development projects, then this is the course for you. This is a very intensive introduction to J2EE. There is a lot of material covered in this course.

The Goal
At the end of this course, you will be able to use the power of J2EE to write practical, large-scale, distributed, web based Java applications.

Pre-Requisites
As this is a very full and advanced course, students must be very comfortable with the basics of the Java language.
