Juris Doctor (LLB)This three-year degree is available to graduates with a recognised degree in any discipline who wish to obtain a qualification in Law. Graduate students must follow a set structure of required units if they wish to complete in the minimum time. Some overloading will be necessary. This will give all students a basic understanding of the legal system and of the nature of the abilities demanded by the professional practice of law. At the same time, students will be provided with opportunities to practise these abilities in simulated professional settings such as the Law School’s Clinical Education Centre at Rockingham. Students will build on this foundation through advanced unit offerings in such areas as corporate and commercial law, environmental law, family law, international law, alternative dispute resolution and human rights law.
