Programming Languages Workshop

Each programming language is chosen with the objective that once the course is completed, the student becomes self confident of the programming language that he learns and he is able to fully understand and start projects on his own. Since Tech Solutions is primarily a software development company, courses taught on programming languages will not be bookish knowledge, but actual pratical case study driven course structure.

The program is designed for those seeking qualifi cations for a career in teaching English to speakers of other languages. Career options might include working as a teacher, curriculum designer, language tester, education administrator or taking up associated responsibilities. The program offers a vocationally relevant degree, which will enable students to refresh and upgrade their knowledge and skills, or to develop new specialisations.

UTS is a leading provider of postgraduate language and literacy courses, with academics who are published authors and internationally recognised experts in the field. This course is an initial teaching qualification in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). It specifically focuses on the teaching of adult students. Students study linguistic foundations for language teachers, adult teaching and learning, teaching literacy, methodology, introduction to language, program design, assessment, as well as participating in professional experience teaching in TESOL.

The course is comprehensive and practical. It is tailored to cater to the needs of participants who as yet have no teaching experience, as well as to the needs of participants with experience but no recognised initial teaching qualification. The course features flexible study options with classes held at times suitable for full-time workers.

The course aims to produce TESOL teachers who are reflective and engaging in their practice, have well developed interpersonal skills, are keen to put current developments in learning and teaching into practice, and have a commitment to lifelong learning.
