This course is designed for people with a non-financial background and no knowledge of accounting software. Through a series of easily understood steps participants will learn how to record accounting transactions in MYOB and produce financial statements. The latest version of MYOB Accounting Plus system (Version 18) is used to ensure you can apply your skills immediately to your work environment.

Participants will gain an understanding of accounting terminology and perform most of the transactions incurred in the day-to-day operations of a small business. Transactions for managing assets, liabilities, equity, revenue and expenses are presented in a hands-on, practical manner.

Course Objectives

Understand basic principles of accounting and how to use an accounting system.

6 months of simulated day-to-day transactions are entered into the MYOB accounting system to ensure you are able to run your own business.

Make financial accrual adjustments and account for depreciation before closing the books.

Learn how to create and read a profit and loss statement and balance sheet.

Contemporary transactions for managing non-current assets, intangible assets, revenue and equity are presented.

Determine the most suitable ownership structure for your organisation.

This is a ’,hands on’, class where you will learn how to use MYOB software in just 1 DAY. NO prior knowledge necessary.

This course will introduce partricipants to the correct techniques for using their computer and MYOB. Successful completion of this course will enhance your business productivity by providing skills to use MYOB Version 10 with GST included.
