This Master of Professional Accounting (Leadership) offers students the opportunity to specialise in accounting for professional recognition. A knowledge of accounting and finance can help students understand how to use money (resources) to the best advantage. Gaining and maintaining wealth are important elements in a market economy. This program provides students with the technical, practical, analytical and creative skills to enable them to effectively deal with accounting and finance issues within planning and decision making.
The traditional concept that leadership skill resides solely with a small handful of top executives has given way to contemporary collaborative models where influence and decision-making authority is distributed throughout an organisation. Todays workforce continues to diversify, and the tasks to be accomplished become more complex. The Leadership Stream is designed to assist todays leaders and prepare emerging leaders for meeting these challenges. The units taught in this program incorporate an action-learning approach that is intended to leverage the interdisciplinary backgrounds of participants and to help build leadership competencies.
