Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure (Certificate)The five-day, Windows Server 2003 Network Management MCSA/MCSE 70-291 course is designed to help students prepare for Microsoft exam 70-291: Implementing, Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure. This class covers topics such as networking models, IP addressing and routing, classless subnet masking, client address configuration, and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). In addition, the course details Windows Internet Name Server (WINS), Domain Naming System (DNS), Routing & Remote Access Services (RRAS), and Virtual Private Networking (VPN) services. Finally, students are taught to implement security templates, automate software updates, monitor and troubleshoot network activity, and LAN routing.

After completing this course, the student should be able to:
Configure a DHCP server by defining a scop and superscope, create DHCP client reservations and configure DHCP options Manage a DHCP database by performing the following tasks: backing up and restoring, compacting a DHCP database and reconciling a DHCP database Monitor a DHCP database by creating baseline, view SHCP server and scope statistics, and create DHCP performance alerts Install and configure the Domain Name System (DNS) Create an Active Directory - integrated zone, and explain the benefits of doing so Use management tools to configure the DNS including Nslookup, DNSLint, and Dnscmd Secure DNS objects in Active Directory directory service setting using security templates Add or modify IPSec security policies using the IP Security Policy Management console.
