Polygon Modeling 2 Develop Your Workflow An extension of Poly Modeling 1, this course focuses on developing specific workflows as they pertain to organic and hard-surface modeling.
Class lectures and demonstrations will cover the construction of bipeds that are animation and texture efficient. Particular emphasis will be paid to the character structure, specifically addressing edge-loop construction and detailed attention to hands and face.
The hard-surface portion of the course will address modeling a complicated object such as a jet, car or other transportation device. Tutorials will focus on maintaining the major form while adding details. Lectures will cover production specific issues pertaining to the representation of detail, poly count, and surface quality.

Polygon Modeling 1Learn Mayas Polygon Modeling Tools Studios and game developers are increasingly using polygon modeling tools in the creation of their projects. This course is a comprehensive look at the complete suite of Mayas polygonal and subdivision surface modeling tools. Instruction introduces the entire work flow of surface and character modeling techniques, beginning with primitives and working into complex, finished models.
Lectures cover the production advantages of polygonal/subD modeling and how it eventually affects the texturing and setup workflow. In addition to the conventional polygonal modeling tools, this course devotes a significant portion of attention to "unwrapping" the models created. The mystical world of UV mapping polygons is covered, including simple primitives and the most complex characters and surfaces.
