Reading and Writing Chinese Characters This course is designed for those who are interested in learning to read and write modern Chinese. The basic principles of the creation of Chinese characters such as pictographs, indicatives, ideographs and phonetic compounds, along with their evolution, stroke orders, radicals and writing structure will be introduced. At the end of this course, students should be able to read and write about 250 Chinese characters. Some knowledge of spoken Chinese is preferable, but the course is taught mainly in English.
