Report Writing for Non-Native Speakers Do you have staff whose level of written English is a barrier to their professional development? They may be non-native speakers who are not producing accurate and coherent emails, letters and reports or native speakers who need to develop confidence in their basic grammar to meet the high level of formal English required for client reports.
The Report Writing Course will be individually designed to your Organisations requirements, in consultation with the appropriate training manager. It uses realistic writing tasks, based on the vocabulary base, report types, emails and letters typically generated by your staff.
As well as the taught sessions, delegates are given written homework each week to be completed in their own time. This extends the value of the training, giving ample opportunity for delegates to identify habitual errors and learn to correct them. Homework is marked online and individual feedback is given in the next session.
The training includes a thorough revision of grammar and tense usage, and the classroom provides a non-threatening environment where questions are encouraged and knowledge can be shared.
Learning Outcomes: SMART Training objectives will be negotiated with each delegate at the pre-course assessment and agreed with the line manager/training manager. At the end of the course, each line manager receives an end-of-course report which measures those objectives and makes recommendations for further training. This process can form part of annual appraisal and professional development profiles.
Aims and Objectives: By the end of the course, delegates will be able to produce better structures and more grammatically accurate written English. They will recognise their individual English language errors and have reference materials detailing how to correct them. They will know how to:
