Russian Level II

Continues to build upon the basic foundation provided in Level I. Topics introduced include the genitive, dative and instrumental cases as well as the past and the future tenses. Upon completion, students can expect to form sentences of necessity and possibility.

Eligibility for this course :- Knowledge of Russian level -1
Structure of the course:

This course covers the intermediate level of grammar, conversation, discussion, writing essays, culture, civilization and business. Russian language is used extensively in class during discussions and role- playing. This helps the students to improve their fluency and speak correctly.

After completion of this course one is confident to:

Ø Use and understand Russian in the text.

Ø Write with an expanded vocabulary.

Ø Read with improved ability.

Ø Demonstrate a developing empathy for the Russian culture.

Ø Form questions and answers based on familiar material.

Ø Carry on an extended conversation using vocabulary studied.



Duration: Two months.

Structure of the course:

This course covers written comprehension, oral communication and expressions. It also covers the advanced level of grammar, conversation, discussion, writing essays, culture, civilization and business. Russian language is used extensively in class during discussions and role- playing. This helps the students to improve their fluency and speak correctly. This course gives continued practice in the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Opportunities are given to expand individual interests in reading materials and cultural items. Short stories, plays, essays, are brought to knowledge using a varied vocabulary. Russian is used extensively in class during discussions and role -playing.

After completion of this course one is confident to:

Ø Use and understand the language and vocabulary used in the text.

Ø Speak, read and write with improved ability and expanded vocabulary.

Ø Understand and be understood by a native speaker.

Ø Translate from English to Russian to demonstrate grammatical skills.

Ø Acquire a greater understanding of the Russian culture.

Ø Formulate questions and answers based on unfamiliar material.

Ø Special Projects: Workbook, Project work and library research.

Duration: Two months.

After the completion of each level and attending the test, the students get a certificate from World Language Lab.
