TESOL (Master Degree) UTS is a leading provider of language and literacy education and e-learning courses with academics who are published authors and internationally recognised experts in these fields. This course may be completed as a general Master of Arts degree or as a Master of Arts with a major in TESOL, e-Learning or Applied Linguistics.
The Master of Arts in TESOL is for qualified or experienced teachers who want a specific qualification in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). The subjects aim to extend both theoretical and practical knowledge about English language, and about curriculum design and methodologies for language education, and are designed to meet the needs of diverse contexts of teaching and learning English. The course integrates theory and practice and is an internationally recognised qualification.
Course aims
The Master of Arts in TESOL aims to enable students to achieve or consolidate specialist, professional competence as practitioners in teaching and programming for spoken and written language development in TESOL; and develop students’ capacity for theoretically informed reflective teaching practice.

The School works closely with UWSCollege and other language teaching providers in Sydney to organise internship placements, to access current industry trends, resources and expertise in teaching methodology, and to identify resources and trends in the field.
The new UWS internship program leads the field in connecting students with language teaching providers in Sydney. A TESOL qualification is a means of combining work and travelnopportunities, with employment opportunities readily available in Australia and other countries.
It equips students with an internationally valued skills set, enabling them to communicate and exchange ideas with people of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and to learn more about other cultures and languages.

Master of Education (TESOL)The Master of Education (TESOL) is a higher degree for both professional educators and for those who are interested in pursuing a research program beyond this degree. It is designed for those with teacher qualifications and experience, particularly in the ESL/ EFL field.
The Master of Education introduces participants to contemporary trends and issues in research, theory and practice. It provides students with an in-depth understanding of areas such as second language development, discourse analysis, pedagogical grammars, research methods, language assessment, English for specific purposes, and computer assisted language learning.
Students wishing to continue on to research degrees (Masters by Research, Doctor of Education or Doctor of Philosophy) can undertake preliminary research into an area of interest during their Masters program.

TEFL (Certificate)TEFL Certificate Course: 120 hours
The TEFL Certificate course offered by the Arizona Language Center in Scottsdale, Arizona consists entirely of classroom instruction, and it is not administered online. Teacher-trainees benefit from the attention of professional trainers in a small class environment. Trainees have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with the professional TEFL trainer gaining invaluable experience planning lessons and practice-teaching.
The course is taught by experienced TEFL Certified instructors with a University Degree and a specialization in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at home and overseas.
Courses are offered throughout the year and class size is limited to 6 students. In order to earn the Certificate, teacher-trainees must attend and participate in all course modules, successfully teach in-class hours to adult ESL learners at the Arizona Language Center and complete a weekly targeted assignment. All graduates receive a letter of recommendation from the Arizona Language Center and valuable career support.
