TOEFL Exam Preparation All English courses at Cambridge include developing the skills of Speaking Listening, Reading and Writing.
The National ELT Accreditation Scheme (NEAS) is the body responsible for accrediting English language institutions and courses. This is an industry based, self-funding, autonomous system. Its guidelines have been developed in close consultation with government, industry providers and English language professionals. Inspections are conducted annually. All qualifications issued by CELC - the Cambridge Transcript of Academic Progress are approved by NEAS.

TOEFL Exam PreparationWe prepare students for popular English language exams including TOEFL.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign language) is an American exam and is recognised by American colleges and universities, as well as most British universities. You can take the TOEFL exam (iBT, internet based test) at a TOEFL centre in a number of countries, including the UK (Oxford). When we have confirmed your registration at the Lake School, you should register online to take the exam at www.toefl.org.
TOEFL exam preparation is available for students who are Pre-Intermediate or above and are studying for a minimum of 4 weeks. We advise you on the best combination of General English and exam preparation. Usually students take General English classes in the morning and exam preparation classes in the afternoon.
Your specific TOEFL training includes: familiarization with the form of the test techniques for answering multiple choice questions vocabulary extension, including American English grammar analysis practice in reading and listening skills Course content Your lessons are dynamic and demanding: our experienced teachers motivate and encourage you to achieve success. You have computer-based practice exams. Your teachers discuss your progress with you in individual tutorials and help you with your personal study programme.
Different teachers have different styles of teaching, but the Lake School style of teaching is dynamic and communicative. In class you will often work in pairs or small groups so you have the chance to speak as much English as possible. Teachers and students take their studies seriously and work very hard, but you will also have a lot of fun in class.
You will receive all the materials you need to use in class; but please bring a notebook with you. You will have homework every night and a revision test at the end of each week, which will help you monitor your own progress.
Exam registration You should arrrange your own TOEFL registration online at www.toefl.org: exams are held every week. You are responsible for your exam fees.
Achieving your goals You will achieve a formal qualification in English. You will improve all your language skills, increase your range of vocabulary and develop your understanding of grammar. You will gain confidence in listening reading and writing. TOEFL is also recognised by employers all over the world.
You will also learn a lot about British culture and make friends from all over the world: our students are of all ages and nationalities.

TOEFL exam PreparationThe TOEFL course is designed to prepare students for the CBT (Computer Based Test) TOEFL exam. The course begins with a diagnostic test and finishes with a practice exam so that students can see their improvement over the course. All components of the exam are developed in the course. As part of the course, students work with CD-Roms which simulate the exam.

At LSC Toronto and LSC Vancouver, TOEFL is offered full-time every session. It is offered in Periods A and B as a 4-week 20 Lessons course.
At LSC Calgary and LSC Montréal, you prepare for TOEFL as an advanced Period C/D combination course. It is part of the 30 Lessons programme. You take 10 classes of TOEFL per week. TOEFL is offered every second session.
