Technology Management (Master Degree)

The Master of Technology Management (MTM) is a coursework program offered by the Australian School of Business, the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science at UNSW. Designed to enhance business and management skills relevant to the demands of modern organisations, the program enables students to complement their technical knowledge by combining management studies with coursework in their field of expertise.

This course, jointly offered by UTS: Information Technology and the UTS: Business, focuses on the role of technology in the strategic leadership of organisations. It provides a well-balanced selection of subjects, drawn from advanced information technology and business domains, in an integrated program that is relevant to the current and future demands of the IT industry and business organisations.

IT professionals who have aspirations to senior IT roles and/or business leadership positions in organisations benefit from this course. Graduates are able to contribute constructively to the effective utilisation of information technology with respect to the strategic leadership of an organisation. IT managers who already have significant levels of experience are challenged by this course and gain new perspectives on the effective leadership of organisations in the digital era.

Course Aims
The course aims to develop:

the professional skills necessary for successfully undertaking strategic leadership roles in a variety of organisational contexts, and
a conceptual and analytical understanding of an organisation’s needs in a dynamic and challenging global knowledge economy.

The Master of Information Technology Management (MITM) degree program is designed to equip and prepare IT professionals working in various industries for the increasing complexities of the digital economy. Small business enterprises and large corporations are operating in a global and competitive environment, hence, the rising demand for IT experts who can automate organizational processes by utilizing the latest innovations in technology and business.
