Exercise judgement in the selection of best technical solution to transport problems
Demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of the regulatory framework within which your transport operations are conducted
Effectively manage transport service contracts and contractors
Supervise vehicle loading and load security
Create safe and effective journey plans and supervise operations in accordance with the HSE policy, industry best practice and local legislation
Create efficient and cost effective transport schedules using manual methods and understand the role of IT systems in transport scheduling
Contribute to the development, planning and monitoring of transport operating budgets using fixed and flexible budget techniques
Calculate the cost of the transport services provided and relate this to units of output and traffic volume
Relate provision of transport to customer requirements and make sound judgements regarding prioritisation
Communicate effectively with transport users
Manage the relationship with their customers to ensure the highest level of satisfaction.
