Value Engineering and Value Analysis for Construction Value Engineering, (VE) and Value Analysis (VA), are processes of Value Management, (VM), that is described in BS EN 12973:2000. The Office of Government Commerce, (OGC), requires VM to be used at various stages of capital project development to achieve best value and more generally VM can help develop develop better and more effective managers, project managers and decision makers. This course places Value Engineering and Value Analysis in the correct context of Value Management and concentrates on how these processes are applied to achieve Value for Money and efficient project development.
Learning outcomes: To achieve an enhanced understanding of Value Management and how it aids the identification of Best Value projects at minimum cost consistent with required project functionality. To understand how Value Management supports effective project management by providing a continuous thread of good practice throughout the project development process. Aims and Objectives: Learn the principles of Value Management, Value Engineering and Value Analysis Understand the principles of Value and Function Understand the British Standard for Value Management, National & International practice Know how VE/VA is applied within the context of a project control framework Know how to achieve successful VM for the organisation and for projects
