VISUAL MERCHANDISING This course aims to provide participants with knowledge and skills to design and implement window and in-store displays for retail stores. You will learn how to combine your creativity and artistic flair with technical know-how to set up displays that maximize the space of the store while effectively catching the eye and appealing t to the senses of their target customers. Their mail goals are: (1) create and maintain an image for a department or store that resonates with their target customers, (2) increase customer traffic in the store, and (3) guide their customers browsing through merchandise placement and store layout to result in an eventual sale. Visual Merchandising (Diploma)This course is for people who want to work in the visual merchandising industry. You will learn how to plan, present and maintain an organisations image, and provide service and merchandise to potential customers. This involves the preparation of layouts, fixtures and fittings, the design and presentation of in store or window merchandise displays, and the production and installation of exhibitions and major display projects.
You will learn about working safely in teams, working in a small business environment, and liaising with marketing personnel and external organisations such as manufacturers, suppliers and tradespeople. Store Presentation for Visual MerchandisingThis program is for people who want to work in the visual merchandising industry at entry level.
You will learn to apply creative skills with an ability to visualise ideas and concepts, and to communicate these effectively.
These skills will enable you to:
- Produce retail visual illustrations - Create, manipulate and incorporate 2D graphics - Demonstrate merchandising and category presentation skills in order to promote an organisations image, services and merchandise to customers.
You will be self-motivated, energetic, resourceful and able to work safely as part of a team to perform merchandising and the arrangement of product presentations for dressing of windows, showcases and museum cases. Visual Merchandising (Diploma)The Diploma of Visual Merchandising is designed to develop the skills and knowledge required by those who hold or wish to hold positions as specialist visual merchandisers in the retail industry. It applies to those who are working as a member of the retail national, state or store based visual merchandising team; working in a business that designs and installs visual merchandising displays in the exhibition industry, or are self-employed as a freelance visual merchandiser. Students graduating with a Diploma of Visual Merchandising will be able to seek employment positions in middle and senior management in the retail industry or with enterprises in a consultancy capacity. They should be able to plan, present and maintain an organisations image, services and merchandise to the customers. This may involve performing the following tasks: 1. Prepare layouts, including merchandise, fittings and fixtures, giving consideration to traffic flow and stock placement. 2. Design or implement in-store window product presentations based on a theme, style or trend. 3. Design, organise and implement seasonal or special promotions such as product launches or special events. 4. Liaise with advertising and marketing personnel in preparation for a marketing campaign or store promotion. 5. Liaise with external organisations such as manufacturers, suppliers and tradespeople about design, manufacture and installation of support elements. 6. Estimate measurements, quantities and costs of materials in order to keep projects within given budgets. 7. Liaise with store planning staff to organise placement of goods, concept shops, signage and finishes. 8. Design or develop production and installation of exhibitions or major display projects.
