COURSE TITLE: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW-I) �PLATE

NOMINAL DURATION: 268 hours

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies such as Setting-up of Welding Equipment, Preparing Weld Materials, Fitting up Weld Materials, Welding Carbon Steel Plates using SMAW Process and Repairing welds.

COURSE OUTCOMES: At the end of this course, the student will be able to: 1.) Weld carbon steel plates components using SMAW process, 2.) Read Blue Print, 3.) Fit up weld joints, 4.) Prepare weld materials, 5.) Set-up welding machines and 6.) Do repair of welds.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Students wishing to gain entry into this course should posses the following requirements: 1.) Can communicate either oral or written, 2.) Physically fit and mentally fit, 3.) With good moral character and 4.) Can perform basic mathematical computation.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies such as Setting-up of Welding Equipment, Preparing Weld Materials, Fitting up Weld Materials, Welding Carbon Steel Plates and Pipes using SMAW Process and Repairing welds.

COURSE OUTCOMES: At the end of this course, the student will be able to: 1.) Weld carbon steel plates and pipes components using SMAW process, 2.) Read Blue Print, 3.) Fit up weld joints, 4.) Prepare weld materials, 5.) Set-up welding machines and 6.) Do repair of welds.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Students wishing to gain entry into this course should posses the following requirements: 1.) Completed training in SMAW NC I or a holder ofSMAW NC I or pass the practical test of 3G position plus written exam, 2.) Can communicate either oral or written, 3.) Physically fit and mentally fit, 4.) With good moral character and 5.) Can perform basic mathematical computation.





COURSE TITLE: Gas tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW-II) �PIPE

NOMINAL DURATION: 268 hours

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies such as Setting-up of Welding Equipment, Preparing Weld Materials, Fitting up Weld Materials, Welding Carbon Steel Plates and Pipes using GTAW Process and Repairing welds.

COURSE OUTCOMES: At the end of this course, the student will be able to: 1.) Weld carbon steel plates and pipes components using GTAW process, 2.) Read Blue Print, 3.) Fit up weld joints, 4.) Prepare weld materials, 5.) Set-up welding machines and 6.) Do repair of welds.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Students wishing to gain entry into this course should posses the following requirements: 1.) Completed training in SMAW NC II or a holder ofSMAW NC II or pass the practical test of 6G position in SMAW Process plus written exam, 2.) Can communicate either oral or written, 3.) Physically fit and mentally fit, 4.) With good moral character and 5.) Can perform basic mathematical computation.
