Aromatherapy

Course Format: Online / Virtual Classroom / Webinar
School/Trainer: Alternative Medicine College of Canada
  V

As an ancestral healing modality, aromatherapy has long been appreciated for its benefits. Not only do essential oils possess certain physical virtues, but they also exert a holistic action through, among other things, the subtle sense of smell. This course outlines the major components of this therapy in terms of its history, methods of extraction and different uses. It discusses the different properties of essential oils, which are classified into chemotypes based on their composition and content of specific aromatic molecules. An overview of multiple therapeutic indications is given along with a materia medica listing the main essential oils used today. This course allows students to become familiar with this formidable therapeutic tool—a tool that all practitioners may employ as long as they have both sufficient knowledge of the substantial effect of essential oils and the careful attention required to apply them for therapeutic aims.
