The MSc/PGDip Professional Practice in Acupuncture at Middlesex University, London, is a unique training programme for the UK and Europe. It provides a great opportunity to those who are already in the healthcare sector (e.g. GPs, physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, midwives, nurses etc), or who already possess a Bachelor degree, to study acupuncture.
This programme is designed around and follows the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) Standards of Education and Training for Acupuncture (SETA). We are currently seeking course accreditation by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. Subject to BAAB approval, graduates will be automatically eligible to apply for full membership of the British Acupuncture Council, the UK’s largest body of professional acupuncturists.

The Professional Master’s Level Acupuncture Program of the American Institute of Alternative Medicine is the equivalent of a master’s level program and is an ACAOM candidate program. The 2170-hour curriculum is designed to thoroughly prepare students for entry-level careers as an Acupuncturist, Diplomate of Acupuncture (NCCAOM). Because of the advanced academic demands of this curriculum, students must have previous educational credits of at least an associate’s degree and/or 60 semester or 90 quarter credits at the baccalaureate level. .
The full time program is three academic years (27 months) consisting of 9 twelve-week quarters. The curriculum includes Acupuncture and Related studies; Bio-Medical Science related material; Clinical Training; and Professional Development including counseling, communications, ethics and practice management.
