This 45-week core program focuses on the powerful vehicles and machines vital to the operation of businesses: tractor-trailers, trains, construction equipment, forklifts, transportation refrigeration systems and more. Within these machines, you’ll learn about air brakes, hydraulics, preventative maintenance and the computers that control their operation.

Diesel and industrial technicians are often in high-demand with dealers and manufacturers alike. Our hands-on labs are state-of-the-industry classrooms where you’ll find equipment and instructors ready to prepare you for a rewarding career.

Industrial Technology and Management (Certificate)

The Industrial Technology and Management Certificate is appropriate for individuals from a variety of backgrounds who need a better understanding of industrial operations to perform their current jobs and qualify for promotions. For those who already have a bachelor&,#146,s degree, the certificate provides a focused introduction to industry and operations management. For individuals with some college experience, this certificate would provide additional education and could also lay the groundwork for earning a bachelor&,#146,s degree.

The INTM Certificate Program requires the completion of three (3) courses:

INTM 315 Industrial Enterprises
INTM 322 Industrial Project Management
INTM 410 Operations Management

Each course is offered at least once per year at IIT’s Main Campus in Chicago IL, the Rice Campus in Wheaton IL, and via the Internet. The certificate can be completed in one year. For each course completed, three hours of college credit will be awarded, which can be applied to the INTM undergraduate degree program.

Industrial Technology and Operations (Master Degree)

The Master of Industrial Technology and Operations (MITO) is a professional degree for individuals who plan to make their careers in industry. The MITO program provides up-to-date information on current technologies and modern management approaches used in world-class industrial companies. The curriculum prepares students to move into management, supervisory and staff positions in industry. Considered a “hybrid?degree, blending technology and managerial topics, the MITO provides students with the breadth of knowledge required to handle a variety of issues in industrial environments. In that regard, it is not recommended for those planning to pursue careers in academia or research.

Classes meet weekly at IIT’s Main Campus in Chicago, students in the western suburbs may attend at Rice Campus in Wheaton, IL. The MITO program can be completed on a part-time or full-time basis, and the entire degree can be completed online ?an important option for the working professional.

Applied Technology

The AAS degree in Applied Technology requires the completion of at least 60 semester hours. Credits from area vocational schools that apply to the degree vary in number according to the certificate program offered by the area vocational school. A maximum of 45 certificate credits may be applied toward the Applied Technology degree. Students must complete at least 15 credit hours in general education courses at CCA. Students whose certification program taken at the area vocational school requires less than 45 hours must complete more than the 15 required credit hours at CCA in order to bring the total number to 60 semester hours. Such additional credits may be taken from any course in the CCA catalog which is applicable toward a degree.
