'' This course is designed for System Administrators responsible for the performance management of AIX Systems. This course teaches delegates how to configure and administer the AIX Work Load Manager

Prerequisites
Before attending this course delegates must have at least one year of commercial AIX system administration experience. It is recommended that they have previously attended AU14GB (AIX System Administration I : Implementation), AU16GB (AIX System Administration II : Problem Determination) and AU18GB (AIX System Administration III : Performance Management).

Delegates will learn how to
Describe in detail the overall functionality of Workload Manager
Build WLM Superclasses and Subclasses and assign processes to the classes for CPU, Memory and Disk I/O control
Build class assignment rules for CPU, Memory and Disk I/O control
Apply resource limits to classes
Demonstrate the use of WLM performance monitoring tools
Examine the WLM Application Programming Interface (API)
Describe the need for Work Load Management Define Workload Manager (WLM) terms and concepts
Assign classes to tier levels for hierarchical control of resource allocation
Decide what resource shares are required and assign resource shares
Analyse WLM managed resources
Evaluate WLM practical experiences
Manipulate WLM using manual assignments
