'' The Standard for Studios Such as Pixar, and ILM One thing that Monsters Inc, Stuart Little, Red Planet and 13 Ghosts all have in common is they all used the RenderMan renderer to generate images for film. Using a renderer that is separate from any animation package gives artists flexibility and allows studios to achieve economies of scale. This course will introduce students to the RenderMan renderer, an industry standard in use at ILM, Pixar, Sony, Tippett, Digital Domain and many other studios. Using the Maya-to-RenderMan plug-in (MTOR), students will learn how to render images using RenderMan from Maya, as well as how RenderMan fits into the production pipeline. ...''
