'' This course introduces you to the high level design of the DS8000 and identifies the installation and customization tasks that are necessary to install and exploit the technology. This course describes the components of the IBM System Storage DS8000, including the 2107 Models: 921, 931, 922, 932, 9A2, and 9B2 expansion disk enclosures and the Hardware Management Console (HMC). It also covers IBM System Storage DS Storage Manager software and the terminology of the IBM System Storage DS8000, including Disk Drive Modules (DDM), array, array site, rank, extent pool, and logical volume. How to install, cable, and configure the DS8000 Storage System using the DS Storage Manager Graphical User Interface (DS GUI) and the DS Command-Line Interface (DS CLI) are addressed. Labs on the DS Storage Manager use the offline simulator mode of the Storage Manager ...''
