Introduces Certification and Accreditation (C&A) as a practice that identifies how securely Major Applications (MAs) and General Support Systems (GSSs) are operated on a day-to-day basis
Discusses each of the major areas of INFOSEC that require documentation and the information that must be gathered in order to complete the documentation effort
Discusses the four major certification and accreditation categories currently in use from most to least stringent:
Intelligence Community
National Security Systems
Department of Defense Systems
Government Systems
Discusses the level to which documentation should extend (depth of knowledge to be documented)
Ensures students understand the depth to which documentation should extend under the major C&A systems ...''
