'' In this introduction to the primary features and basic interface of Final Cut Pro, learn to perform basic editing functions while familiarizing yourself with the user interface. Topics include basic setup, adjusting and customizing preferences and settings, capturing video and audio, various editing and trimming techniques, ripple, roll, slip and slide tools, audio editing and audio creation, finishing and final output.
This class is designed for anyone looking to edit professional quality video using Final Cut Pro.
Covers:
- Working with the Browser and Bins.
- Marking clips and using Insert and Overwrite edits.
- Drag and drop editing.
- Marking and deleting clips in the Timeline.
- Trimming Edit points.
- Using Ripple, Roll and Extend edits.
- Using the Slip and Slide tools.
- Applying Filters.
- Audio editing and audio creation.
- Finishing and final output.
PART 1: Students learn about Final Cut Pro 6’s primary features set and user interface and how to perform basic video and audio editing functions.
Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of the Macintosh OS and ability to easily navigate the Macintosh environment.
Certification
Both parts of this course together cover the requirements necessary to successfully become an Apple Certified Pro, Level 1 in Final Cut Pro. This certification attests to basic operational knowledge of the application. Final Cut Pro. Level 1 certification also counts towards the new Final Cut Studio (FCS) Master Pro certification.
