'' The Science, Math, and Engineering Research Program at the University of Tasmania (UTAS) offers a wide selection of courses and research in science, mathematics, computer science, and engineering.

Why study abroad in Tasmania? UTAS is especially well known for it’s Faculty of Science, Technology, and Engineering; the University¡¯s continued accomplishments in science and technology has placed it in the top rank of Australian research universities. Here, you can do a research internship alongside a UTAS faculty member (for credit) in a beautiful, safe, and unique location, living alongside other Australians (not just tourists). Tasmania is Australia¡¯s one-of-a-kind island state, with plants and animals found nowhere else on earth, and one-fifth of the island designated as a World Heritage Area (there are 16 national parks), making it also an excellent place to study the sciences.

The cultural component includes field trips and activities in Hobart, Tasmania, and a week-long excursion to Sydney and Melbourne. (The academic year program includes an excursion to New Zealand or camping in the Australian Outback.)

Students can earn up to 16 college and graduate credits per term. Program transcripts are issued by the University of Tasmania and Clark Atlanta University (accredited in the USA). This program is offered during the Fall, Spring and Academic Year. The program is open to precollege (high school graduates), college, graduate and continuing education students. A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale is required.
