'' This course exposes participants to leading-edge techniques for identifying, evaluating and managing global business risks. The objective is to show how to protect critical assets while taking advantage of emerging opportunities.

Attending this course will help you:

assess key demographic, environmental, political, economic and financial drivers shaping today’s global risk environment, and recognize what businesses can do about them
make quantitative assessments of value at risk, and understand financial instruments to mitigate cross-border risks
develop scenario-based forecasts of risk and opportunity, to assist with investment decisions
anticipate and respond proactively to emerging risks

Course Content

Market risk, credit risk, operating risk, risk management process
Enterprise risk management: policies, monitoring, program structures, costs and anticipated benefits
Value at risk: calculation and interpretation, individual assets/liabilities, portfolios
Mapping the global risk environment: trends, regional synopses, quantitative risk indices
Social, political and economic risk analysis: instability
frameworks, sources and indicators of risk, expected loss calculations, scenario-based forecasting
Financial instruments for managing risk: insurance, futures/forwards, swaps, options, combinations, hybrids/exotics
Investing in emerging markets: recent trends, expropriation, political violence, transfer/inconvertibility, CSR and reverse flow analysis ...''
