Course Description:

'' Our ability to successfully deliver a project is strongly rooted in the effectiveness of our plans. One of the greatest challenges that project managers and teams face is the ability to plan and estimate the work of a project with confidence. Challenges in planning include ensuring that the requirements of our stakeholders are fully defined, that there is clarity regarding the work to be completed and deliverables to be produced, and our ability to estimate with confidence the time, cost and resources required for the project.

In this module, the participants will review the principles of developing effective project plans. The workshop will:

· Introduce the various breakdown structures used in planning, and how these integrate into an overall continuum

· Explore the process and considerations for successfully identifying project stakeholders and requirements

· Articulate the steps required to identify the deliverables and work associated with the project

· Define the resources and resource structures required to understand the capacity and staffing needs

· Explore different planning approaches and their advantages and disadvantages, including gating, rolling wave and agile approaches. ...''
