Course Description:

'' The Science, Mathematics & Engineering Research Program at Mahidol University International College (MUIC) offers a wide selection of courses and research in biological sciences, chemistry, physics and mathematics. The cultural component includes organized activities and field trips in Bangkok and northern Thailand, including possible visits to border towns in neighboring Myanmar (formerly Burma) and Laos. Students can earn 16 to 18 credits per term. Program transcripts are issued by Mahidol University International College and Clark Atlanta University (accredited in the USA).

The Science, Math and Engineering Research Program is offered during the Fall, Winter and Spring Trimesters as well as the Summer terms. The program is open to precollege (high school graduates), college, graduate and continuing education students. A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale is required. Knowledge of the Thai language is not necessary, since the entire program is conducted in English.

Highlights

Courses in (1) biological sciences, chemistry, physics and mathematics; (2) Language courses (Thai, Chinese and Japanese), business, computer science, nursing, health, liberal arts and humanities, Southeast Asian studies, and many others.
Courses taught in ENGLISH.
Research with Mahidol University faculty and affiliate research institutes in the Bangkok metropolitan area.
Mahidol University is considered one of the top research and educational universities in Thailand and Southeast Asia.
Field trips in Bangkok and throughout northern Thailand, including border towns of Myanmar and Laos. Academic year students also have the option of visiting the southern coast of Thailand or Siem Reap in Cambodia.
Access to computer labs, Internet, library and student facilities at MUIC.
16-18 credits per term.
Two transcripts issued by the Mahidol University International College or Clark Atlanta University (students have the option).

Housing near the campus for the duration of the program (and between terms for consecutive term students).

Tuition & Fees

The program tuition includes all items listed under Program Highlights. Tuition and fees are expressed in US dollars. KEI’s refund and withdrawal policy is described in the KEI Services, Policies and Procedures Guide, which can be downloaded from this website.

Extended Spring Term: $12,400 (Winter & Spring Trimesters)
Academic Year: $19,700 (Fall, Spring & Winter Trimesters)
Summer Session I: $3,900
Summer Session II: $3,900
Summer Session I & II: $5,900
Note: Students participating in summer/fall, and spring/summer terms receive a $500 discount for the second term.
Refundable Fees

Refundable Damage Deposit (Refundable): $300
Refundable Telephone Deposit: $200 -- KEI provides each student with a mobile telephone to use during the program.
Damages to the housing, academic facilities, academic materials on loan, and mobile telephone are assessed at the end of the program and deposits refunded accordingly.

Students should budget additional funds for the items listed below. Costs are approximations. Actual costs may vary.

Transportation in Bangkok/Salaya: $30 per month
