'' Software Engineering applies the principles of computer science and mathematics to achieving cost-effective solutions to software problems. It is the technological and managerial discipline that focuses on a systematic production and maintenance of software products. The study of software engineering covers not only the technical aspects of building software systems, but also management issues, such as directing programming teams, scheduling, and aligning information technology with organized strategies.
The Master of Software Engineering Program (M.S.E. General Degree) is a 10-course, 30-credit degree program, which involves the completion of four required courses and six electives. The required courses cover modern programming languages (a choice of C++, Java or Visual Basic); the study of general software development methodologies; and the study of project management techniques. A varied selection of electives gives students the flexibility to specialize in topics suited to their individual professional interests. ...''
