'' This course will provide an overview of network security principals and practices. Through a combination of lecture and hands-on activities, students will gain an understanding of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, host-based security principles and security tools such as network scanners.
This course presents an overview of network security with an emphasis on support for network and Web based services. With an emphasis on technology and hands-on exercises, a general overview of the regulatory and business issues involved will be included.
