'' Drawing upon the field of human development, and utilizing academic studies, case studies and actual student examples, this course examines the human side of managing professionals and addresses the knowledge and skills required to be an effective leader. The course examines leadership in dynamic environments through the study of effective communication, interpersonal skills, relationship and team building, team and client management, motivation, change management, conflict management, negotiation, and decision-making processes. Emphasis is on managing and leading professional individuals and groups in program or project related environments and the leadership skills required to deal with individuals and groups effectively throughout the program or project life cycle.

The course is intended to provide students with the following: An understanding of the dynamics and complexity of leadership · An understanding of how to establish a program or project vision · An understanding of the importance of communication skills in attaining project goals · An understanding of project teams, team selection and team management · An understanding of the attributes of effective decision making skills.
