Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' When there is a conflict of interest between two or more parties, negotiation can play an important role in resolving the conflict. Characteristics common to all negotiation situations include two or more individuals, groups, or organizations. The parties prefer to search for agreement rather than fight openly, have one side capitulate, permanently break off contact, or take their dispute to a higher authority to resolve it. One of the most popular areas of conflict management research and practice has been to define the different ways that the parties themselves can manage conflict. Each conflict management strategy has its advantages and disadvantages, and is more or less appropriate given the type of conflict and situation in which the dispute occurs. By participating in this course you will come to recognize the pervasiveness and importance of negotiation. You will acquire a new repertoire of negotiating skills. You will develop a systematic and positive approach to negotiating with colleagues, bosses, clients, other stakeholders, and external groups of all kinds--in ways that equip you to deal also with all kinds of conditions and circumstances. ...''
