The course is self-paced and taught by a audio of an announcer reading the leading topic and paragraph of each section. The student then reads and navigates through the remaining materials for each section. Each sub-section has a practice test to help the student review their understanding of that section while preparing for the post course assesment exam.
Outcomes: Students Will: Understand important computer and electronic commerce security terms
Understand why secrecy, integrity, and necessity are three parts of any security program
Identify the roles of copyright and intellectual property and their importance in any study of electronic commerce
List the threats to computer and electronic commerce security and the countermeasures used to eliminate or reduce these threats
List specific threats to client machines, Web servers, and commerce servers
Identify where security can be enhanced in back office products, such as database servers
Understand how security protocols help plug security holes
Identify the roles that encryption and certificates play in assurance and secrecy ...''
