One of the few programs of its kind, CET’s Chinese Studies program allows students with varying backgrounds in Chinese language and studies to delve into China according to their own interests. Located in China ’s capital, the home of standard Mandarin, and situated in the Western part of the city, away from foreign influences, the program offers an ideal location from which to study Chinese language, history, politics and culture. Unique area studies classes challenge students to thematically observe their surrounding environment while language classes give students the tools to further their exploration. Chinese roommates further open China ’s door to students, offering both friendship and cultural insights. An enriching program, CET’s Chinese Studies in Beijing provides students a platform from which to explore China from a variety of angles.
