'' This course is for teachers and parents and anyone involved in helping young people with their learning. The course covers the basics of Social and Emotional Learning- what it is; why it is important in schools and in the home today. It also provides information on the concept of Emotional Intelligence and how it affects the learning and basic functioning. Participants will understand the connection between emotions and learning and how behavior patterns develop and therefore how to remove the emotional blocks to learning. This combines some basic aspects of counseling in the classroom and in the home, but it goes beyond that. Focus will be on creating a supportive, nurturing, non-threatening environment to enhance learning. ...''
