School/Trainer:

The National Registration Center for Study Abroad
Kyoto, Japan

Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced

Course Description:

'' The Language Center has been involved in Japanese language education for foreigners in Japan since its establishment as a language institute in 1969. Students come to study from all over the world with a variety of goals. Many of them have taken what they have learned, and applied it in areas such as business and research, while many others have gone on to continue their education at colleges, universities, graduate schools and research centers all over Japan.

In keeping with Japan’s dedication to education (current literacy rate is 99%), the center offers a library that provides books and cassette tapes for self-study. In addition, it provides a lounge which is used as a communication space for students.

All teaching staff meet the requirements of the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education, an association aimed at improving the quality of Japanese language institutions by training school personnel and granting approval to those who meet the standards.

The center was recognized as an accredited school by the immigration Department of the Ministry of Justice in 1981, and as an intermediary for immigration-related procedures in 1987. In 1989, the same year as the establishment of the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education, Kyoto Center received certification as an educational institution for Japanese language.

Kyoto

It is said that the former capital of Japan, Kyoto, embodies the essence of the Japanese spirit. Located on south-central Honshu Island where it is cradled by mountains, Kyoto has been a center for art and culture in Japan for the last twelve centuries. The city’s history is long, but Kyoto is at the same time forward-looking and well known in Japan for its new innovations. The people (population 1,480,000) and city of Kyoto have a special pride unique in Japan.

In the center of Kyoto is the Imperial Palace; it is renowned as a pinnacle of the simplicity of Japanese architecture. In the Shijo district is Shijo-Sawaramachi, a shopping area of department stores and old and new specialty shops. The nearby Gion Corner is a good place to view traditional art and theater performances. Travel either by foot, by taxi, by bus, or by the famous Bullet Train will provide a view of a well laid-out town with many points of interest.
