Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' Sailing is a brilliant opportunity for students to work in a team and be responsible for their own safety. It encourages students to listen carefully and follow complex instructions as well as to plan ahead and to think tactically.
Students will be briefed on the activity and encouraged to express their views and thoughts. Before getting on the water, they will be shown how to assemble the chosen boat to be used, how to steer the craft and what to do in the event of capsizing.
A qualified instructor will be on the water at all times. He/she will teach from a powered boat.
The sailing takes place on Loch Morlich at the Spey Valley Sailing Club. It is only 20 minutes drive from the Centre and students will have access to the club house to change and get a hot drink. Lagganlias boats are stored at the sailing club and this includes access to additional boats designed for use by people with a disability.
Even though the participants will be wearing a buoyancy aid, it is however required that they are able to swim 25 metres. ...''
